The county level city of Kunshan in Jiangsu province has in recent years continuously made efforts to promote the construction of green factories, promote ecological protection, and improve the quality of the ecological environment.

Guoxian Optoelectronics, a leading technology and large-scale panel manufacturing enterprise in China, consumes nearly 7000 cubic meters of water per day. The enterprise invests nearly 10 million yuan annually to improve environmental protection, aiming to convert water consumption into green energy for production. After being treated with activated carbon and precision filters, industrial wastewater is continuously sent back to the production line, with a reuse rate of over 90%.

“If I make pure water, it would cost me about 10 yuan per ton, and if I treat wastewater, it would cost me more than two yuan. If I reuse reclaimed water and add pure water to make it, I would now spend about 8 yuan. In this way, if we treat each ton of water, I can save more than 2 yuan, resulting in an annual revenue savings of over 4 million yuan,” said Wu Qinghai, General Manager of Factory Affairs Center of Kunshan Guoxian Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.

Kunshan Development Zone has built 3 national level green factories and 16 provincial level green factories.

Kunshan is also carrying out a city-wide 100 day environmental improvement special action, ensuring that by the end of July this year, the concentration of PM2.5 in the city is controlled below 28 micrograms per cubic meter, and the number of days with good air quality will be increased by 4 days year-on-year.
